Online first aid courses

Argentina governs workplace first aid under Law No. 19,587 on Occupational Hygiene and Safety (Decree 351/79), complemented by Law 24,557 on Occupational Risks: there is no fixed first-aider ratio, but employers must ensure means for immediate first aid and a risk-appropriate kit accessible at all times. An internal occupational-medicine service requires at least one qualified nurse per shift from 50 workers and a medical service from 200.

Municipal licensing of nursery schools and daycares in Argentina requires trained personnel ('personal adiestrado') and an equipped first-aid kit, while Law 27159 on sudden-death prevention promotes basic CPR and AED training (AED mandatory only in public-access venues serving more than 1,000 people/day). Certification is typically renewed every two years, and online courses are accepted.

Argentina imposes a duty to render aid under Art. 108 of the Criminal Code (Law 11.179, 1984), 'omisión de auxilio', covering anyone who finds a helpless child under ten or an injured, disabled or endangered person, discharged by giving aid when it poses no personal risk or notifying authorities. Failure to assist carries a fine of 750 to 12,500 pesos, and AED responders are protected under National Law 27.159 (Decree 402/2022).

In Argentina nursing practice requires national licensure (Ministry of Health, RUPS registry) and, depending on jurisdiction, registration with provincial colleges, with nursing law obliging employers to guarantee ongoing training so basic life support and CPR are expected competencies, especially in public hospitals. There is no national credit-based recertification tied to licensure; the requirement is met by any recognized continuing-education activity such as CPR/AED, ACLS or PALS.

Argentine geriatric residences (geriátricos) and homes for older adults, licensed and inspected by provincial or municipal health authorities, must ensure staff able to provide first aid and CPR until medical help arrives. The National Registry of home caregivers requires a 200-hour course that includes first aid, while outside the registry a standalone recognized first-aid/CPR certificate is valued and renewed periodically.

In Argentina family fostering is organized at the provincial level and in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Ley 6516) within the child-rights protection system, and in the City's Acogimiento Familiar programme families undergo a suitability assessment plus basic training in legislation, care and CPR (RCP). Assessment, training and supervision are handled by the Consejo de los Derechos de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes and provincial interdisciplinary teams, with a recognized up-to-date first-aid/CPR certificate meeting the requirement in addition to the suitability assessment.

Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Argentina for personal, childcare-licensing and employer purposes, with Decree 351/79 requiring staff prevention training without prescribing a format (the hands-on portion usually in person — grey zone: accepted). Certification is valid for 3 years.
